+ How to render animated GIF in After Effects ?+

Instructor - Pradeep Mamgain

+ Animated GIF+

Animated GIF files are used widely on WWW. When displayed, an animated GIF file is downloaded by the Web browser into memory, and then played in memory. The initial downloading and playback time can vary, depending on the server storing the file, the size of the file, network traffic, and the memory limits of the system running the browser. An animated GIF should have a short duration and 5 frame/sec rate of less. Animated GIFs are rendered with 256 colors (8-bit palette). When you are going to create an animated GIF, make sure that…

1. Specify a frame rate for the composition.
2. Select work area in the workspace.
3. Add to render queue by choosing Composition > Add to Render Queue.
4. Click on Lossless and select Animated GIF from the format pull-down. Once you that one more window will pop-up. From there you can select the Color Palette.

AnimatedGIF Settings

Select Web safe to use a palette that contains the 216 colors. Select System to use a palette that contains the 256 colors of the current 8-bit system palette. Select Other to specify a color palette created from the Adobe Photoshop. Before rendering a final movie, make a test movie. If the colors are appearing according to your expectation, create a color palette in Photoshop and use it by choosing Other option in Color palette pull down.
