# KBF00005 - How to use Adobe After Effects plugins inside of eyeon Fusion
Instructor : Pradeep Mamgain
One of the secrets of After Effects huge success is large support from the third party plugins. They are found in tons and we all use them happily in our After Effects projects. If someone is switching from After Effects to Fusion or he is using both the software, it would be a dream ride for the user if that person can use After Effects plugins inside of fusion.
Now Is it possible to use After Effects plugins in Fusion environment?
Yes, you can use After Effects plugins in eyeon Fusion. Fusion still supports After Effects plugin Adaptor. eyeon has changed third party plugin API in version 5 to support the ASCII composition and OpenGL views but still supports AE adopter. As you all might be aware fusion Compositions are now saved in ASCII text format rather than the binary format. This was a wonderful change as now compositions are loaded much faster.

Does Fusion still support binary format?
Yes, it is still possible to save the files in binary format. Enable Save Compressed Comps option in Preferences > General section. When this option is on bulk of the file will be saved using the ZLib compression. You can not read this compressed file using any text editor.

Things you need to know -
Certain third party tools do not render properly on the network. This happens because these tools use previously rendered image as the part of the current image. Particle tools, specifically falls in this category. Keep this thing in mind when rendering.
How to use AE plugins?
Generally when you install AE plugin it will fetch both AE and Fusion directories for you to install. However if it is no the case simply navigate to the Program Files > Adobe > After Effects > Support Files > Plug - Ins and for instance we pretend that we are copying Cycore Effects. Copy the folder Cycore FX 1.0.1 and navigate to Program Files > eyeon > Fusion and paste the cycore folder inside AEPlugins Folder and thats it.
You have to restart the Fusion if it is running and CC tools will appear in the tool menu. Now you can use these CC tools as you use any of the fusion native tools.
