The head of Western's medical school is calling for a rigorous review after a national report found
medical schools are increasingly being filled by students from the highest-income families in Canada.
"We think we need to look at admissions to ensure that we are, in fact, open to people coming from backgrounds that are non-traditional or certainly where there is financial stress," said Carol Herbert, dean of the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry at UWO.
